Wear Black to Stand in Solidarity with Women in Poland
As you all know, October is breast cancer awareness month. But this year we’re not just focusing on this, we’re actually supporting women in Poland who are struggling to fight for their rights.
We can’t say that Poland actually supported women’s reproductive rights, but it did allow abortions when the pregnancy was the result of either rape or incest, when the woman’s life is danger, or if the fetus is damaged. However, this is all going to change! Poland has created a new law that criminalizes abortions in all cases. Yes, you’re probably wondering now: Even if the woman was raped? Yup! No matter what the reason is, she and the doctor performing the abortion would be sent to jail for 5 years.
This is a very serious matter, not only to women; but all also men must support this cause. I urge you all to wear black tomorrow (5th of October, 2016) in solidarity with Women in Poland. It’s the least we could do.
