Sushi Taxi Montreal: Best Sushi in Griffintown
Located on Notre Dame Street in Griffintown, Sushi Taxi is a small Japanese Sushi restaurant in Montreal, known for its exquisite taste and fusion twist. I went to check it out last Saturday, and to my surprise, the place was full but fortunately enough, not jam- packed. The ambiance was very chill: dim lights and candles making it ideal for romantic dates. The waitress and hosts were very friendly and welcoming, which of course adds to the overall satisfying experience.
After skimming through the menu (which was simple and straight-forward), I chose the following:
- Japanese Soup: Basic and similar to a miso soup but a tad more spicy and the tofu was extra chewy.
- Maki Combo: A 9 piece dish of exceptional sushi made with salmon, shrimps and other special ingredients that gave it a perfect taste.
- Creative Combo: This combo was made of 14 pieces of special Makis. The chef game them a twist of caviar, mayo and sweet taste. Each piece was exquisite in its own way to a point where it was really hard to choose the one that tasted best.
- Chocolate Banana and Coconut: For desert, I ordered this slice of heaven. Chocolate with banana, coconut, strawberry and peanut butter. It was so perfectly balanced and not even that sweet!
Overall, I really enjoyed the simplicity of the place and its menu. There was no need to wait, the atmosphere was nice, the music was not loud, the service was fast, the host was friendly, the food was of high quality and the prices were fair. Sushi Taxi is by far the best sushi place in Griffintown!
